Flora Flora was dreamed up by Sarah in September of 2020.
When Sarah was living in Hawaii from 2015-2018, she was up close and personal with the plastic pollution that most of us hear about but never fully witness. She saw how single-use plastics were killing the sea life and crowding the gorgeous beaches that she loved so much. On a journey to reduce her environmental impact, she started saying no to plastic bottles but wanted more from the shampoo bars she tried. She created Flora Flora to serve as a sustainable starting point without having to sacrifice product performance or aesthetics.

Born in Vancouver and raised in a rural, ocean-side setting just outside the city, Sasha grew up close to nature. Her younger brother and now business partner, Zac, suffered from acute asthma and allergies as a young child. Her mother, a true pioneer in health and wellness at that time, sought out homeopathic remedies to help heal her son. This included co-founding an organic food co-op with several families in the area, as organic food did not yet exist in the grocery stores. Through trial and error, Zac was healed primarily through diet. Years later after living as an adult in LA, Sasha returned home to Vancouver where her mother encouraged her to read the ingredient list on her favorite lip balm. Sasha was shocked to discover many of the ingredients were not safe, and it’s something she used daily. The challenge was set – re-create her favorite lip balm so that it would be safe, effective and natural. And so the story of ILIA began.

Water is essential to everything we do in our lives – and Jolie believes in the power of water that is clean. It has energized, hydrated, sustained, and cleansed humans for centuries and is our vital life source. However, the water we have all been showering and bathing in is not what we thought it was. Municipal water supplies have been compromised and no longer provide the clean, healthy water our bodies and minds need. Jolie believes that the water you put on your body is as important as the water you put in your body.
