Ahh, the cool, crisp air is here! Has your skin been feeling tight, dull + dehydrated these past few weeks? You are not alone, beauty!

When temperatures drop and humidity fades, our skin's natural moisture barrier may fade along with it. Our moisture barrier lives on the skin’s outermost layer (aka the Stratum Corneum). It's designed to repel irritants + environmental stressors while preserving your skin's water content. But when our climate becomes arid, our skin can *struggle* to find equilibrium...and our tone, texture and clarity may suffer, too.

Here are my top tips to help you protect and boost your skin's moisture levels during this shift in weather:

Reach for the Hyaluronic Think of hyaluronic acid as a big drink of water for the skin. HA exists in our bodies naturally + is slowly depleted over time. When our skin is subject to dry weather, our HA storage can deplete more rapidly. Replenishing that HA storage is a sure fire way to keep our water levels high prevent dull, dry skin. Try Botnia's Hydrating Serum, made with a large molecular weight of HA to deeply hydrate the skin, and rose geranium hydrosol to stop inflammation in its tracks. Apply this HA serum to freshly cleansed and toned skin, and follow up with your moisturizer to seal the deal.

Mask... at home! A bi-weekly at-home mask routine can seriously step up your skin care game and maintain your skin's hydration levels during these dryer months. Josh Rosebrook's Advanced Hydration Mask will deeply hydrate + plump your skin like *no other*. With a major dose of botanical hyaluronic acid + polysaccharides, this luscious mask will offer hydration to the skin and actually help maintain it. Take a dime-size amount, warm between your palms and smooth over your face, neck, and chest. Let your skin absorb these nourishing ingredients for 20-30 minutes, then remove with a fresh, warm cloth.

Don't forget to hydrate internally We can talk about skin hydration without our Rule No. 1: Drink water. I know, you’ve heard this a thousand times. But we mean it, and with good reason. Hydrated skin cells will shed + regenerate more quickly and evenly than dehydrated cells. This helps to even the skin’s tone, and reduce texture and dullness. Another great form of internal support is through Omega-3s: an essential fatty acid that helps regulate the skin’s oil production, lock in hydration levels and support the aging process (not to mention its many other internal benefits – like brain health!). Simris Algae Omega-3 supports skin's suppleness with just 2 vegan softgels per day.

Bye winter skin woes!

Try Oil Cleansing Did you know that millions of good bacteria live on the surface of your skin? We love and welcome these good bacteria, and want to protect them too! What's the best way to do that? Through oil cleansing! Take 3-4 pumps of our fav Living Libations Best Skin Ever-Seabuckthorn Oil and warm between your palms. Gently press the oil into your skin and take a few minutes to give yourself a gentle facial massage. Doing so will stimulate blood flow and circulation while draining lymphatic fluid (the fluid responsible for flushing toxins!). Remove with a fresh, warm wash cloth and continue on to your second cleanse.
