It’s official. The holidays are in full force. So are the late nights bouncing from work to happy hours (to last night’s Shop Good Night Out!) to late night gift wrapping. Between your lack of time, the decadent meals, sweet treats and heavy flow of cocktails, it’s a little toooo easy to fall off your self-care game. May we open our trusty Wellness Tool Kit? Never heading to bed without our Calm in December… or January and February for that matter. Calm promotes healthy magnesium levels and balances calcium intake—helping you to feel less stressed and more relaxed. Lovely! If we haven’t touted this product enough in the past….this white, effervescent powder also alleviates constipation (holiday diet like, woah) and can even quell body aches, pains, and muscle tension. How we use it: We recommend starting slow and working your way up to 1 tablespoon mixed in room-temp water before hitting the sheets.
You’ve heard of charcoal, but why is it our holiday digestive-soother, skin-saver and hangover-buster? Activated charcoal works to adsorb toxins in the body. This makes AC a great natural remedy for relieving bloating, gas, preventing hangovers and detoxify the body from Holiday indulgences. Activated charcoal is said to be one of the best GI tract decontaminates due to its ability to remove 50-60% of unwanted substances in the stomach and intestines. How we use it: take one capsule two hours before or after eating with two large glasses of water to reduce bloating, gas and indigestion. Weekday night out? Take before or while consuming alcoholic beverages to reduce the chance of a rough morning in the office.
“What are those dark green tablets I’ve seen at Shop Good??” Chlorella is a powerful algae that is rich in phytonutrients including amino acids, potassium, biotin, magnesium, zinc and B vitamins. Chlorella helps aid our body in producing good bacteria in the gut and reduces oxidative stress in the body. All of these benefits can help boost the health and appearance of our skin… our largest organ that immediately tells us when we’ve had too many snickerdoodle cookies (baked them for my work team, ate 7 myself). How we use it: We add 2-4 tablets to a large glass of water 1-3x per day or mix into our smoothies for a deep green and cleansing morning ritual.
Frothy and decadent AF, our new favorite daily beverage is bright orange can stain your fingers. Worth it? Yep. Moondeli’s Golden Turmeric blend is ancient, earthy and warming as it is effective. Tired much? Our skin too. Face masks are a great ritual to incorporate when we must fake it until we make it — to the finish line of 2017. The mask for this task? H is for Love Propolis mask serves as an invigorating and revitalizing zing to the skin, awakening and bringing life into stagnant and dry cheeks and forehead. The beautiful blend of white turmeric, green clay, cinnamon and clove releases dead skin cells and stimulates blood flow to the surface of the skin. How we use it: Mix 2 parts mask, 1 part water and paint onto the face, sitting with it on for about 15 minutes. Propolis can be used as an exfoliating cleanser for a quick skin fix before the holiday party! We like to add a small amount of dry powder to our hands with an equal amount of water. Massage into the face, leave on for one minute and then rinse away as you would a normal cleanser.
